WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO BETTE & JOAN? – BONUS EPISODE 6: SIGNATURE ROLES
“Fasten your seatbelts. It’s going to be a bumpy night!”
Welcome to the final bonus episode of What Ever Happened to Bette & Joan?, an ongoing journey through the later careers of Bette Davis & Joan Crawford. This holiday season, we’ve gone back and explored classic Bette & Joan through a variety of titles from the 40s & 50s tied together by common themes. For this last bonus episode, we look at Bette & Joan’s signature roles, including 1945’s Mildred Pierce starring Joan Crawford, and 1950’s All About Eve starring Bette Davis, a pair of movies that guaranteed the two stars would remain among the most legendary leading ladies ever to grace the screen. Hosts of the podcast Pfeiffer Pfridays, Jerry Downey and Michael McClain, return to talk about these indelible films and the two legends at their centers.
YOUR HOST

Frank Calvillo (Highly Suspect Reviews, Screener Squad, What Ever Happened to Bette & Joan?)
Born and raised in South Texas, Frank currently lives in Austin and has been in love with movies ever since his father showed him some Three Stooges shorts when he was five years old. Today he loves all kinds of film, regardless of era, country, budget or genre. He believes every film has an audience and is at least one person’s favorite movie. After writing for Sight & Sound and Slackerwood, he now writes for Cinapse where his increasingly random taste in all flavors of cinema (from Rashomon to Mars Attacks!) continues to thrive. His ultimate goal is to write a script for his boyhood crush, Michelle Pfeiffer.
