Highly Suspect Reviews: Jumanji: The Next Level

Jumanji: The Next Level Movie Review

There was never any doubt after the unexpected and huge success with audiences and critics of the last Jumanji film, that we were going to get another one and soon. Can you put these characters back in the same situation and change it up enough to not mess with the winning formula but not just feel like a rinse/repeat? This time our young protagonists get sucked back into the world of the game when one of them who is having an angsty moment goes in by himself on purpose. Reluctantly re-entering to save him, they accidentally suck in the minds of his grandfather (Danny DeVito) and ex-best friend (Danny Glover) into the bodies of Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart respectively. So, a bit of a different dynamic is at play this time, even if very little else is. Join Chris, Alan, Tessa, and Zach for their thoughts on this sequel.
