THE PUNISHER: ONE LAST KILL REVIEW

Marvel’s latest Special Presentation, The Punisher: One Last Kill, puts Frank Castle back in the crosshairs for a brutal, blood-soaked mission that finds the vigilante confronting old ghosts, unfinished business, and a city that seems determined to keep creating new targets. Set between Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 and Spider-Man: Brand New Day in the MCU timeline, the special serves as both a continuation of Frank’s story and a bridge to the street-level corner of Marvel’s future. Following in the footsteps of Marvel Special Presentations like The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special and the acclaimed Werewolf by Night, One Last Kill embraces a much darker tone, delivering bone-crunching action, gallons of blood, and the kind of relentless violence that has made Frank Castle one of Marvel’s most feared antiheroes. Before the bullets start flying, however, the story takes time to examine the emotional wreckage left behind by a life built on vengeance. Rae, Neil, and T.C. gather in the One Of Us backroom armory to break this movie down much like Frank Castle himself breaks down for the first 20 minutes of this movie until he gets to work.

Lyrae Anderson (Screener Squad)

You can call me Rae. You can also call me a film lover. I’ll watch it all — small screen; big screen, and everything in between. I have attended and worked for Fantastic Fest and South by Southwest for many years. I married a film geek as well. While we don’t agree on everything, we agree on our love of movies.

Neil Anderson (Screener Squad)

I first got hooked on movies when I saw Star Wars at a drive-in theater as a kid. Growing up in a small, rural town meant not having access to a lot of movies. In college, that all changed. I couldn’t get enough. I love it all — flicks, films, movies, and cinema. I still have that wide-eyed wonder of that kid watching movies from the back of a pick-up truck at the drive-in.
