THE WITCHER (SEASON 1) TV SERIES REVIEW
Netflix is attempting to fill that Game of Thrones sized hole in your heart with their new series The Witcher. Adapted from the acclaimed Polish novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, which were also the basis for the acclaimed video game trilogy, the story primarily follows our monster hunting protagonist Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill). Though society shuns him for his mutations, he still performs his duties as one of the last Witchers in the Continent to protect innocent civilians. However, two new people are about to change his life forever. One is Yennifer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), a deformed woman who discovers incredible magical powers that lead her to the Continent’s mage academy. The other is Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan), who discovers her own magic abilities while fleeing to find Geralt after a rival nation invades her homeland. Why is destiny bringing these three together? Justin, Ben, and Daniel ‘Dogget’ are not exactly sure yet, but they are sure that they have a lot of good things to say about this flawed but compelling new series.
