The final trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has arrived, showing us slightly more of Jyn Erso’s (Felicity Jones) story. While a majority of the footage consists of previously seen images in the beginning, the final forty-or-so seconds shows us what to expect in the action department—and it looks grandiose. This installment follows the Rebellion as they attempt to infiltrate and steal plans for the Death Star.
As we wait for Rian Johnson’s installment in the new trilogy, Rogue One looks like it will do more than fill the gap of anticipation as the creators are evidently having as much fun as possible wandering the universe and pushing its possibilities. Gareth Edwards (2014’s Godzilla) helms the director’s chair while Chris Weitz (Antz), Gary Whitta (Book of Eli), Tony Gilroy (The Bourne Series) and VFX Artist John Knoll (Pacific Rim) are at the writer’s desk.
The cast includes Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything), Riz Ahmed (The Night Of), Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland), Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal), and many more including James Earl Jones and Warwick Davis (for every skeptic of the expanded universe).
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story arrives in theatres on December 16, 2016.
