FORGOTTEN ISLAND MOVIE REVIEW
Some friendships last forever. Others come with an expiration date, a magical portal, and a flying demon straight out of Filipino folklore. DreamWorks Animation’s Forgotten Island follows lifelong best friends Jo (H.E.R.) and Raissa (Liza Soberano), two young women preparing to go their separate ways after graduating high school. But one last adventure sends them through a mysterious portal to Nakali, a fantastical island populated by creatures from the Filipino legends they grew up hearing. With a questionable weredog as their guide, mythical monsters around every corner, and an escape plan that might erase every memory of their friendship, the girls discover that growing up can mean losing more than just your childhood. From the filmmakers behind Puss in Boots: The Last Wish comes a colorful celebration of Filipino mythology, friendship, and the bittersweet business of letting go. Felix, Dom the Movie Nerd, and T.C. cross the Einstein-Rosen Bridge to the One Of Us island oasis to discuss whether this is an unforgettable animated adventure or one best left lost to memory.

A native of Sacramento, California, and having spent his post-pubescent years in Virginia, Nevada, Texas, and New York, Felix now finds himself pursuing his Juris Doctor at Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. Nothing is more calming to Felix than the comfort of Chaos, as his time in professional wrestling and on other podcasts has demonstrated, and Felix brings a love for the most absurd outings in the realms of cinema, finding his escape in things such as the overly complex world of Jupiter Ascending and perusing the unbelievably low-budget offerings of Tubi, which Felix is fully convinced is a Psi-Op. In addition to finding Felix here on OneOfUs.net, you can Check him out on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube sharing his life in Law School as “TheBrokeLawStudent.”

Dominic Rizzi (Screener Squad, Highly Suspect Reviews)
Born and raised in the Hudson Valley, NY, Dom “the Movie Nerd” Rizzi fell in love with film at a young age. After majoring in film in both community college and achieving a Bachelor’s degree in film from SUNY Oswego, Dom went on to start his own podcast Talkin’ TV during Covid before studying acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City. Relentlessly passionate about everything related to film, Dom has shot and produced several short films, as well as having written several scripts. Working at a liquor store by day, Dom has continued to pursue his passion for cinema in any capacity he can, because to follow his dreams, in the words of Shia LaBeouf pre-descent into insanity, “just do it.”
