A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS SERIES REVIEW

A century before Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, the first of her name, Queen of the Andals, Khaleesi of the great grass sea, the unburnt, breaker of chains and mother of dragons met Jon Snow, the King of the North, there was a hedge knight and squire who would become legendary. HBO presents a miniseries based on the novella by George R. R. Martin and set in the world of Game of Thrones, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) or Dunk for short, has just buried his lord. According to Dunk, his lord’s final wish was that Dunk become a knight. To prove himself, he travels to Ashford to join a tourney of warriors representing the usual houses. There he befriends a young boy named Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell) who wants nothing more than to be a squire to an ideal knight and live a life separate from the obligations of his house. Seeking favor from the lords of the houses, Dunk discovers the wealthy and powerful are a lot more sketchy than the poor and needy. With the help of Egg, he’ll navigate the path of a knight without losing his ideals and values. Bradly, Felix, and Eoin sing a song of what fire is left in the long running IP and if the second spin-off can still carry the fire. Readers may be left out in the cold waiting for The Winds of Winter, but cinephiles rejoice in what IMDB users are calling the best episode of all time within the six episodes of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

Bradly Martin (Screener Squad Boss, Eye on the Prize, Breakfast Pub)

Bradly Martin was born in the united states and grew up on a healthy diet of sports, films, and books. A rather shy lad who kept to himself, Bradly soon discovered the best way to know a person was to know what people liked. Throughout the years Bradly became a fan of many things and a fanatic of none. From Doctor Dre, to Doctor Strange and the who’s who of Whos. From Playstation to the Dreamcast and Marvel to DC. From LeBron James to James Bond and Lord of the Rings to Lord Palmerston (or Pitt the Elder if you agree with Wade Boggs) and is a huge fan of dad jokes and randomly obscure Simpsons references. Armed with a vast knowledge of comics, films, and pop culture. Bradly traveled the world making friends and sharing takes. As a young man Bradly married the love of his life young and grew older every year with each new child brought into the brood. If trends continue, Scientists predict that .2% of Canada (where Bradly and family reside) will be populated by Bradly’s children by the year 2029. You can hear him leading and listening to his favorite critics on the Screener Squad and maybe even providing some comments of his own.

R.Felix Finch (Screener Squad)

A native of Sacramento, California, and having spent his post-pubescent years in Virginia, Nevada, Texas, and New York, Felix now finds himself pursuing his Juris Doctor at Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. Nothing is more calming to Felix than the comfort of Chaos, as his time in professional wrestling and on other podcasts has demonstrated, and Felix brings a love for the most absurd outings in the realms of cinema, finding his escape in things such as the overly complex world of Jupiter Ascending and perusing the unbelievably low-budget offerings of Tubi, which Felix is fully convinced is a Psi-Op. In addition to finding Felix here on OneOfUs.net, you can Check him out on TikTokInstagram, and YouTube sharing his life in Law School as “TheBrokeLawStudent.”

Eoin Daly

Born and raised in Dublin Ireland, Eoin currently lives in London and has been an avid film lover from as far back as they can remember. Eoin enjoys going to the cinema weekly regardless of the film: new, old, or the most random title. They have no preconceived notions when taking in a new film. They tend to look for the good in any film they watch and will always love the art form. They are a major fan of actress-led cinema and will never apologize for this one film bias.
