WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO BETTE & JOAN?: BONUS EPISODE 4: AND THE NOMINEES ARE…
Welcome to the fourth bonus episode of What Ever Happened to Bette & Joan?, an ongoing journey through the later careers of Bette Davis & Joan Crawford. Although our travels through Bette & Joan’s post-Baby Jane years may have come to an end, our time with these leading ladies has not. This holiday season, we’ll be going back and exploring classic Bette & Joan through a variety of titles tied together by common themes. On this week’s episode, Bette & Joan go to the Oscars with a pair of movies that garnered them Oscar nominations in the same year! Podcaster and fellow One of Us contributor Eoin Daly joins me as we look at the two leading ladies’ Oscar-nominated turns in 1952’s Sudden Fear, starring Joan Crawford, and The Star, starring Bette Davis.
YOUR HOST

Frank Calvillo (Highly Suspect Reviews, Screener Squad, What Ever Happened to Bette & Joan?)
Born and raised in South Texas, Frank currently lives in Austin and has been in love with movies ever since his father showed him some Three Stooges shorts when he was five years old. Today he loves all kinds of film, regardless of era, country, budget or genre. He believes every film has an audience and is at least one person’s favorite movie. After writing for Sight & Sound and Slackerwood, he now writes for Cinapse where his increasingly random taste in all flavors of cinema (from Rashomon to Mars Attacks!) continues to thrive. His ultimate goal is to write a script for his boyhood crush, Michelle Pfeiffer.
