WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING MOVIE REVIEW
Based on Delia Owens’ bestselling novel of the same name, Where The Crawdads Sing tells the story of Kya, an abandoned child living alone in the marshes of North Carolina during the 1960s. Despite being poor, uneducated, and ostracized by the community, Kya (Daisy Edgar Jones) grows up to be a resourceful young woman and a self taught naturalist and illustrator. When Kya’s ex-boyfriend Chase (Harris Dickinson) is found dead on the beach, the locals immediately suspect “The Marsh Girl” of murder. Can her sympathetic attorney (David Strathairn) prove her innocence? Will she reunite with Tate, (Taylor John Smith) her childhood friend and one true love? Will we ever hear crawdads sing that new Taylor Swift song written for the movie? Our reviewers Alan, Sarah Jane, and Marco chartered a boat and ventured into the swamp to find out for themselves.
