THE SEED MOVIE REVIEW
Welcome back to The Screener Squad, where today, Matt, Lewayne, Trevor, and Chad take a much-needed break to a secluded mansion in the desert. Today they review The Seed, written and directed by Sam Walker. The film follows three friends and social media influencers (Deidre, Heather, and Charlotte) on a vacation, who witness a meteor shower. Said shower of meteors crash lands an alien in the backyard pool, and now the 3 friends must figure out what to do next. The little alien starts out as (arguably) adorable but as it goes on, there are possessions, black goo, and carnage. The Seed is a blend of comedy, gruesome violence, and the wettest puppet you’ve seen in a long while. Does this movie hold up to its premise? Stay tuned and find out.

Matt Foster (Screener Squad)
Matt Foster is a stand up comic, podcaster, and movie critic currently living in the greater Salt Lake City area. His lifelong love of genre film began early, when he realized they freaked out his mom. He performs (epidemics permitting) regularly on Dungeons and Comedy, a DND live play with standup comedians, and is the slightly less mustache-y half of the Nighthawks Podcast, a cinema-centric discussion cohosted by Trevor T. Trujillo.
Trevor Trujillo (Screener Squad)
Trevor T. Trujillo is a One Of Us contributor in addition to being the co-host, co-founder, and co-producer of the Nighthawks Podcast. Trevor’s 17-year media career spans multiple arenas including television, radio, podcasting, and online journalism; and he is currently the editor-in-chief for a regional online news provider in the Rocky Mountain West. Often a nomad, Trevor has found himself “at home” in places like Austin, Texas; West Hollywood, California; and throughout central and southeastern Wyoming. Get the pause button ready, Trevor also manages to pop up in blink-and-you’ll-miss-them featured extra roles in Nickelodeon’s FRED, TruTV’s OPERATION REPO and the Todd Rohal/Zack Carlson short THE SUPLEX DUPLEX COMPLEX.
Lewayne White (Screener Squad)
Lewayne’s earliest memories are of watching movies and reading comics, which instilled in him a sense of wonder, a vivid imagination, and unrealistic expectations. It also means he spends a lot of time watching movies, writing scripts for them, and trying to get them made. He lives in the middle of middle America after landing there as a child, and has remained there mainly because he hates packing.
