Young Wallander TV Series Review

YOUNG WALLANDER TV SERIES REVIEW

Since his debut in 1997, Swedish police inspector Kurt Wallander (created by novelist Henning Mankell) has been the subject of nine novels, nine feature films, and two television series. The middle-aged Wallander is a brilliant detective, but he’s also a cantankerous misanthrope with few friends, a dysfunctional home life, and a serious problem with alcohol. But how did he become the man he is?

The new Netflix series “Young Wallander” sets out to answer that question. This prequel/reboot begins when Wallander (Adam Pålsson) was still an idealistic rookie, longing to become a detective. When Wallander finds himself at the scene of a racially motivated, public execution he gets pulled into his first investigation – one that threatens to destroy an innocent young man’s life, and spark a race war. But the real mystery is whether our reviewers liked the film or not. Listen to our team of defective detectives Alex, Tessa and Marco as they sift through the evidence and discuss the case.
