FREAKS: YOU’RE ONE OF US MOVIE REVIEW
As Stan Lee famously said, ‘With great power comes great responsibility,’ a poignant lesson completely lost on the characters of this German Netflix original. Learning that she has repressed superhuman strength, Wendy (Cornelia Gröschel) teams up with two fellow mutants to fight back against a system that has actively worked to keep all of their powers dormant. But, once again as Stan Lee said, “Mit großer macht kommt große verantwortung,” and discovering you have godlike abilities can easily turn a superhero into a supervillain. Listen to Mindy, Lewayne, Eliot, and Matt don their capes, and break down whether this film belongs in the Halls of Justice or fits better stuck deep in the Hall of Doom.
