Screener Squad: Dead

Dead Movie Review

In this New Zealand horror-comedy, we meet Marbles; a listless stoner who gets by by injecting a mix of weed and his late father’s neurological meds into himself that allows him to see and interact with ghosts which he charges people to talk with through him. His life is thrown out of his rut when a cop in his small town turns up dead…or, rather, his ghost turns up to Marbles exhorting him to solve his murder by a serial killer picking people off in their town. Marbles is not interested but a dangling promise of cutting into a life insurance policy gives him SOME motivation. Which is more motivation than our critics think the makers of this movie had in trying to make it any good. Listen to Chris, Adrian, Lewayne, and Marco try to get something out of the corpse.
