Morgana Movie Review

MORGANA MOVIE REVIEW

The decidedly NSFW documentary “Morgana” chronicles one woman’s journey from repressed housewife to feminist pornographer. After years in a loveless marriage, Morgana Muses gets a divorce but the thought of starting over as a lonely, overweight, fifty year old woman is just too daunting. She decides to treat herself to one last fling with a male escort, then commit suicide. To her surprise, the experience of long denied intimacy and pleasure rekindles Muses’ lust for life and leads her to the world of sex work and erotica. Before long, she’s producing and starring in her own award winning adult films. Her new career allows her to experience pleasure, explore her fantasies, and confront her insecurities. It also brings her a new lifestyle, fame, and admirers. That may sound like a happy ending but “Morgana” packs a lot of heavy themes in its 71 minute run time; from gender roles in society, mental illness, family dysfunction, disturbing sexual fantasies, body image issues, ageism, free speech, sex positivity, and more.

Our sultry foursome of sexy reviewers Santiago, Adrian, Mindy, and Marco had a lot to say about this artful documentary. Did it turn them on, or did it leave them feeling unfulfilled? Listen to our review to find out!
