CENTRAL PARK TV SERIES REVIEW
From the musical manic minds of Loren Bouchard (Bob’s Burgers) Josh Gad (The Book of Mormon) and Nora Smith (Bob’s Burgers) comes an animated family sitcom set in New York City’s Central Park. The show stars a busker named Birdie (Josh Gad) who narrates through song the episodic mishaps of the Tillerman family. Owen (Hamilton‘s Leslie Odom Jr.) manages the park while his wife Paige (Kathryn Hahn) is a journalist for an unnotable fluff newspaper who is starved to report on real news stories. Their kids, Molly (Kristen Bell) and Cole (Tituss Burgess), navigate adolescence through brilliant harmonies and inspired comic book sequences. Grinching it up in a towering hotel overlooking the park is Bitsy Brandenham (Stanley Tucci) with devious plans to buy the park and turn it into a commercial zone that would be a Wall Street fat cat’s dream. Bradly, Mike the Editor, and Hunter discuss the power of music through storytelling, some voiceover controversy surrounding the series, and if the 10-episode adventure is able to stay on key and earn a standing ovation by the final curtain.
