SHIRLEY MOVIE REVIEW
The Shirley of the title is renowned horror/mystery writer Shirley Jackson, here portrayed by the ineffable Elisabeth Moss. She and her professor husband Stanley (Michael Stuhlbarg) live a sometimes tense, sometimes boisterous existence. She struggles with agoraphobia, depression, and, well, who knows what, and he’s decided they have an open marriage, much to her chagrin. Enter Fred, a new professor at the school and his wife Rose who have been taken in by Shirley and Stanley while they acclimate to the new settings, but Shirley is not going to make it easy. As she struggles with her latest novel she makes Rose emotional fodder in her quest for inspiration. Chris, Frank, and Adrian take a look at this latest Neon release and give you the information you need.
