What if you were able to go on living after death in a virtual world? I mean, for those of us who aren’t entirely confident about other post-death conscious experiences, that sounds pretty sweet, right? Well, Greg Daniels (who created The Office and co-created Parks & Rec) has devised a sinister twist on the idea. Robbie Amell plays Nathan, a hapless hunk who is uploaded to the virtual vacation paradise only to find that it’s full of ads, in-game payments, and the sorta things anyone would expect who functions virtually online in today’s world. Also, his living girlfriend holds the purse strings. ALSO, it looks like maybe he was murdered. ALSO ALSO he’s got a crush on his ‘angel’, a living tech rep named Nora (Andy Allo) who despite her office rules, is reciprocating the feelings. So, there’s a lot going on in this new Amazon Prime half-hour comedy series. But does it all work? We have multiple opinions on that. Listen to Chris, Rae, Jordan, and Doggett enter the Matrix.
