Screener Squad: Capone

Capone Movie Review

Have you ever wondered what the last year of Al Capone’s was like? Apparently, Josh Trank did and, following the disaster that was Fan4stic, someone apparently decided to give him a second chance to tell his version of this story. Capone follows its eponymous character (Tom Hardy) as he’s recently released from jail and dealing with late-stage dementia from syphilis. As he continues to degrade, his concepts of reality and his distorted memories blur together. And…well, that’s pretty much the plot. Everything else is actors responding to Tom Hardy’s…um, interesting performance. Does it still work? Justin, Nathan, and Mindy are ready to bust some heads to determine if this movie lives the gangster life or if it should sleep with the fishes.

STARRING: Tom Hardy, Linda Cardellini, Jack Lowden, Matt Dillon, Noel Fisher, Kyle MacLachlan, Katherine Narducci, Neal Brennan, Gino Cafarelli, Tilda del Toro, Mason Guccione, Caiden Acurio, Josh Trank
