THE QUARRY MOVIE REVIEW
Ever since FX’s hit show Justified (and before) people have been really interested in crime stories with that country charm. The newest film in this southern crime genre is The Quarry based on a novel of the same name. Set in South Africa, our unnamed protagonist (Shea Whigham) kills a preacher and assumes his identity. He proceeds to take over his church in a small town where he gets mixed up between some low-level criminals and the town’s racist sheriff (Michael Shannon). Can he find forgiveness and peace in his new role as a religious leader, or will the Chief discover his true identity? Only time will tell, and this film definitely gave Bradly, Frank, Ben, and Mindy time to consider the moral quandaries involved. Check out their review here.
