THE NEW POPE TV SERIES REVIEW
The New Pope, the unexpected sequel to the strange but compelling HBO series The Young Pope, has come to an end. The new story picks up after Pope Pius XIII (Jude Law) suffers a coma following several failed transplants. In an effort to stop the fanatical radicalization of the Catholic Church that Pius started, the cardinals go through many lengths to elect the more moderate Pope John Paul III (John Malkovich) to the position. However, new challenges face this new pope, along with a lingering feeling that Pius may one day wake from his coma and cause havoc for the Church. Dogget and Paloma have blessed us with their reviews to see if this new series is saintly or truly from Hell.
