MY HERO ACADEMIA – HEROES RISING MOVIE REVIEW
***WARNING: SPOILER TALK NEAR THE END*** The runaway anime hit My Hero Academia continues with a second cinematic outing. Heroes Rising surprisingly takes place closer to where the manga is now than the anime series, with the class of 1A setting up a practice hero agency to help a small island. During this time, however, a group of villains led by a mysterious leader named Nine (Johnny Yong Bosh) arrives looking for a particular person for their own goals. With no professional heroes to back them up, Izuku Midoriya (Justin Briner), Katsuki Bakugo (Clifford Chapin), and the rest of the class must hold off Nine and his goons to prove their own capacity for hero work. For a movie this big, we had to call upon our own superhero team of reviewers. So listen as Justin, Michael Riojas, Bradly, Paloma, and Daniel ‘Dogget’ render a verdict on whether you should run, fly, teleport, or in any other way rush to the theater this week, or if this is a super dud in an otherwise amazing series. Also, there’s a lot of tangential discussion on Bakugo and other nerdy stuff, but you know you want to listen to it!
