COLOR OUT OF SPACE MOVIE REVIEW
Director Richard Stanley returns to helming narrative feature films for the first time since he was fired (unjustly, some would say) off the famous trainwreck 1996 adaptation of The Island of Doctor Moreau. But he’s back (thanks to Elijah Wood’s production company SpectreVision) and he’s here with the first of what is hoped to be a trilogy of Lovecraft adaptations (the second, just announced, will be The Dunwich Horror).
Nic Cage lives out on the inherited homestead with his wife and three kids. He’s trying to make a go of it as a small-batch farmer but…alpacas? When a brightly glowing meteor slams into their front lawn the whole family seems to have different and strange reactions to it. Those reactions get stranger, the color gets brighter and starts infecting the local flora and fauna, and stuff goes WAY sideways. Listen to Chris, Mindy, Tessa, and Marco give their thoughts.
DIRECTED BY: Richard Stanley
STARRING: Nicolas Cage, Joely Richardson, Madeleine Arthur, Q’orianka Kilcher, Brendan Meyer, Tommy Chong, Elliot Knight
