THE TWO POPES MOVIE REVIEW
Netflix continues to campaign for their original movies to be taken seriously with The Two Popes. Based on the play The Pope by writer Anthony McCarten, the film follows the ordination of Pope Benedict XVI (Anthony Hopkins), who is considered much more traditionally conservative to his favored rival Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio (Jonathan Pryce). After several high profile scandals within the Catholic Church, Pope Benedict contemplates resigning to pave the way for Bergoglio to become Pope Francis. But what happened behind the closed doors to get to that point? Brad, Justin, and Nathan discuss this Oscar contender to see if it truly ascends to the heavens or if it was an act made in bad faith.
