Highly Suspect Reviews: Richard Jewell

Richard Jewell Movie Review

RICHARD JEWELL MOVIE REVIEW

Based on the true story, Clint Eastwood’s latest film takes on the story of a security guard at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta Georgia who discovered a bomb before it went off and saved some lives by doing so. He was celebrated as a hero. For three days. And then the FBI and the local media decided he was the most likely suspect. Watching Paul Walter Hauser play the titular sad-sack character with Kathy Bates as his heartbroken mother is engaging. Watching Jon Hamm and Olivia Wilde as virtual mustache-twirling villains is less so. Still, despite the obvious and somewhat disturbing political undercurrents at play, Eastwood may have made one of his most sturdy films in some time. But did we like it? Listen to Chris, Alan, Marco, Mindy, and JC give their report.
