BOMBSHELL MOVIE REVIEW
When Gretchen Carlson, a long-time talking-head (I’m sorry, I won’t say ‘journalist’) at Fox News, came forward with stories of CEO Roger Ailes having sexually harassed her and insinuating she wasn’t alone, it was indeed a bombshell of a news story. The title of this film insinuates both that and the ‘blonde bombshell’ expression, as the three leads (Nicole Kidman as Carlson, Charlize Theron as Megyn Kelly, and Margot Robbie as amalgam character Kayla Pospisil) all sport the killer blond dos. This new film by Jay Roach tries to tell this story while dodging around overt criticism of Fox News as a company. It would seem that this whos-who list of liberal actors is trying to make a film that would appeal to those viewers of the right-wing persuasion by their softening of the usual and obvious talking points. But is there any real way to do that when we’re talking about Fox? Chris, Beau, Jennifer, and Sarah Jane get down to it.
