MIDWAY MOVIE REVIEW
Or as we like to call it, Pearl Harbor 2: The Revenge. Ok, sure this is Roland Emmerich who is decidedly not a director known for nuance, but with his film about the WWII Battle of Midway, he took a somewhat different tack than we expected. No, this isn’t a companion piece to Michael Bay’s execrable Pearl Harbor film, despite the easy jokes. Emmerich has pointed his film firmly at trying to create a very old-school type WWII film and on that note at least, he does succeed. Whether that’s something you want to see is an entirely different question.
