A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD MOVIE REVIEW
What is there to say about Mister Rogers that hasn’t been said already? After the wonderful documentary from 2018 Won’t You Be My Neighbor? it felt like a narrative drama was…superfluous. Boy, were we wrong. Tom Hanks (because of COURSE) plays the impossible to hate Fred Rogers but he’s not the main character. That is journalist Lloyd Vogel (Matthew Rhys) who is assigned a profile on the man but is more used to cynical attack pieces. He thinks he has the upper hand in this conversation. He is wrong. Tune in to hear Chris, Frank, Mindy, and Mandy try to keep from wildly sobbing while reviewing this film.
DIRECTED BY: Marielle Heller
STARRING: Tom Hanks, Matthew Rhys, Susan Kelechi Watson, Chris Cooper, Enrico Colantoni, Maryann Plunkett, Tammy Blanchard, Wendy Makkena, Carmen Cusack, Noah Harpster, Maddie Corman, Christine Lahti
