GENNDY TARTAKOVSKY’S PRIMAL TV SERIES REVIEW
Animation legend Genndy Taratakovsky (Samurai Jack, the original Star Wars: Clone Wars) is back to blow minds and rip off faces with Primal. Set in a mishmash of prehistoric time periods, the story follows a caveman (who is only named ‘Spear’ in the production notes) fighting to survive and protect his family. When tragedy befalls him, he crosses the path of a female Tyrannosaurus (‘Fang’) and the two form a bond to survive their unforgiving world. This five-episode series (though there are reportedly five more in production for an unspecified release) certainly pushes boundaries for Tartakovsky. Aside from the graphic violence, there is not a single word of dialogue spoken in the show. Does the final product still work? Justin, Bradly, and Julien are going native to find out for themselves.
