Love it or hate it, Fox’s gorgeously made, grotesquely bloody, and overall bonkers superhero show Gotham is coming to a close. Will it end in heroic triumph or insane disappointment? One thing is for certain: Justin, Nick, and Travis are determined to see it through to the very end. This is The Final Days of Gotham, our weekly recap podcast of the show’s last season. This will be an in-depth analysis that will contain spoilers as we discuss the final twelve episodes one at a time leading up to the series finale, where we will then do a comprehensive review of the entire show with Chris Cox.
For this week, we discuss the season premiere episode, ‘Year Zero.’ When we last left our heroes, the city of Gotham had been cut off from the outside world after its bridges exploded. Now the villains have staked their claims throughout the city and Jim Gordon must lead the charge to take it back. How well did the episode set-up the season to come? What were its strengths and weaknesses? Where can the later episodes possibly go from here? Listen here to find out!
