BLOOD QUANTUM MOVIE REVIEW

As is expressed in one point of our review, it’s always interesting to see a genre or subgenre interpreted through the lens of different cultures. Director/writer Jeff Barnaby takes on the Romero-style zombie horror having it take place on a First Nations reservation. The characters discover that Indigenous people appear to be immune to the viral effect from the bites of the undead, which puts them in a position where all the white folks from across the bridge want to be on their (somewhat) safer lands. One doesn’t have to point and stare to see the sub-text on colonialism here, to be sure. The question is, does it make for an exciting horror film? Chris, Lewayne, Marco, and Adrian have thoughts. Hear them here.
