The Wretched Movie Review

THE WRETCHED MOVIE REVIEW

Witches are big right now in horror and I’m not surprised the makers of The Wretched want to connect their film with that. However, a monster being decidedly female does not a witch necessarily make. We certainly don’t want to seem as if we didn’t like this movie (spoiler: we did), but our monster definitions here are a bit blurred. The story follows Ben who is going to join his father for the summer by a lakeside resort community. Dad and Mom are uncomfortably separated, Dad’s already dating, there’s some kind of shape-changing monster (witch?) stalking the neighbors and eating children, and worst of all, Ben can’t decide who he wants to date. Man, have I had a few summers like that. Chris, London, Aaron, and Bradly take on this IFC Midnight pick and largely put it on the recommended list.
