BIG TIME ADOLESCENCE MOVIE REVIEW

Finally, what you’ve all been waiting for: Pete Davidson – THE MOVIE. Ok, I kid, but there’s no question this Hulu film feels completely made for him to play…without having to stretch too much. He plays an overgrown slacker named Zeke who, after his girlfriend dumps him, stays friends with her much younger brother Mo for…YEARS afterward. Somewhat grooming him to be a proto-Zeke, Mo feels a lack of concern for many of the ills of High School when he always has his older ‘cool’ friends he can go hang out with. When these worlds start to collide, he begins to be able to see Zeke for who he really is, and has to start to think about who he really wants to be. I know, I’m making this sound like an ABC movie of the week, but it really isn’t. It’s a cute, smart, indie dramedy with some likable misfits and realistic character interactions that MOST of us liked. Uh-oh, now you gotta listen to Chris, Mindy, Santiago, and JC on the review to see who I’m unfairly throwing shade at.
