Altered Carbon: Resleeved Movie Review

ALTERED CARBON – RESLEEVED MOVIE REVIEW

What is it about success that makes people want to release a prequel? Netflix is, no doubt, getting a lot of eyes on their grungy space-noir Altered Carbon (review for 1st and 2nd seasons here) and now we get this CG-anime prequel film. Taking place a few hundred years before the first season, we again follow Takeshi “Tak” Kovacs (played here by Ray Chase) who has just become the last Envoy, as he tries to protect a young Yakuza tattoo artist on the planet Latimer. Tak will have to deal with a conspiracy within the Yakuza itself, as well as hard-edged government CTAC agent Gena (Elizabeth Maxwell) to ensure the girl is safe and that he can earn the help of his client. Does this 3D animation work to its favor, or is it a digital sci-fi mess? Ben and Paloma dove back in to find out for you!
