SONIC THE HEDGEHOG MOVIE REVIEW

If you grew up in the ’80s or ’90s then you’re no stranger to the “Sega” theme or their blue hedgehog mascot, and since everything old is new again, it’s we have Sonic the Hedgehog in theaters now. After being in development hell since 2013 we get Sonic (Ben Schwartz) living in our world in the town of Green Hills, Montana where he’s hiding for safety and secretly idolizes the town sheriff Tom Wachowski (James Marsden) who doesn’t even know he exists. After a fit of lonely angst causes a massive blackout, the nefarious Doctor Robotnik (Jim Carrey) is dispatched by the government to find him and Sonic must rely on the help of Tom to get to safety. The movie turns into ’80s-style road-tripping hijinks and with 100 minutes to the movie it’s really gotta go fast. Ben, Julien, and Max dig into this movie that wants to entertain you, just as much as it wants you to enjoy some never-ending pasta!
