A teenage punk (Alex Sharp) from the streets of Croydon England and his friends end up at a party populated by some serious weirdos in colored vinyl outfits but also the girl of our young protagonist’s dreams (Elle Fanning). Unfortunately, she and her vinyl-coated friends are all aliens who aren’t planning on sticking around for long. Add in a punk priestess played to the hilt by Nicole Kidman, a cast full of funny English tv stalwarts (Matt Lucas, Ruth Wilson, Joanna Scanlan), and the directorial and very musical stylings of John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) and you have a movie that Chris and Harris are, quite frankly, SHOCKED that apparently, most critics didn’t adore as much as they did. Oh yeah, and it’s based on a Neil Gaiman short story. Check out their review here.
