The writer/director of the often overlooked (but wonderful) Short Term 12 teams up with Brie Larson again to tell the story of the seriously dysfunctional Walls family. Woody Harrelson is an optimistic drunk and Naomi Watts is a kooky artist and they’re not so great as the parental units in this nomadic tribe they have together. Switching back and forth in time, Brie Larson plays the older version of their child Jeannette who has to deal with her nonconformist parents still, a yuppie fiance, and her writing.
