The other PSX reveal by acclaimed video game developer Naughty Dog was the trailer for the upcoming standalone Uncharted story, The Lost Legacy. The trailer is surprising in that it doesn’t feel anything like the Uncharted series until the last few moments. While the series typically goes for bombast and humor, this trailer is a bit more subdued and atmospheric.
It feels good to see Nadine and Chloe not only back on screen, but also working together. I always felt Chloe got a bad deal what with her ending in Uncharted 3, so it’s satisfying to see her return as the protagonist of the story. What that story will end up being, however, is a little more vague at this juncture. Naughty Dog have said Chloe and Nadine’s mission involves recovering the Tusk of Ganesh in India.
The fight choreography at the end is incredibly satisfying and characteristically Uncharted in its quality. It remains unclear whether or not The Lost Legacy will lean on hand to hand combat or gunplay, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see more fisticuffs after Nadine’s incredible beatdown on Nate last go round. The chapter has been said to be fairly hefty, so hopefully there will be much more to learn about this chapter in the coming months.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is set to launch both on the PSN and as a retail disc on store shelves in 2017.
