Mad Max: Fury Road-Final Trailer

The second full-length trailer for Director George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road debuted online today, revealing more of the film’s plot, characters and gorgeous special effects. The fourth film in Miller’s post-apocalyptic series, Fury Road has Tom Hardy replacing Mel Gibson as the wasteland warrior, Max. In addition to Hardy, the film co-stars Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Nathan Jones, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Within this world of fire and blood exists two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore some semblance of order. There’s Max (Hardy), a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos and Furiosa (Theron), a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.

Oh, what a lovely trailer this is indeed. Not that the previous teasers and trailer didn’t look exciting already, but this one finally gives viewers a look into how all of this mayhem and destruction may have started. It seems as if Theron’s Furiosa rescued several slave-girls from the film’s big-bad, Immortan Joe (Keays-Byrne). Like Lord Humongous before him, Joe is yet another wasteland warlord commanding an army of degenerate psychopaths. Claiming the girls as stolen “property,” he gives chase to Furiosa across the Australian wasteland with a very miserable looking Max adorned as a hood ornament along for the ride.

Like in past trailers, Hardy’s Max is eerily calm to all the madness happening around him. His demeanor is certainly intense, but he’s not acting as if anything is out of the ordinary. Perhaps that is Max’s madness. The fact that a band of leather-clad psychotics and their flamboyantly dressed leader have turned him into an unwilling addition to a car is just another Tuesday for him.

Mad Max: Fury Road rides into theatres May 15, 2015.
