Newest Trailer For ‘The Raid 2: Berandal’ is a Symphony of Violence

There is a reason why we were created with the ability to form fists: it is a universal tool. You can use it to express camaraderie via fist bump, or you can hold it in an upright position to celebrate solidarity. Others use it as a paintbrush, to express themselves in the art of BEATING THE ABSOLUTE SHIT out of someone. Their palette consists of different shades of blood, and their canvas is your face. So this trailer we’re about to show you, is a goddamn Mona Lisa painted with bloody fists.

Before viewing I just wanted to say, at approximately 2:00 minutes in, we see the real  meaning of Batman. He used the hell outta that thing. OK, now you watch it:

The Raid 2: Berandal (Indonesian Trailer)

It seems like director Garreth Evans is the Da Vinci of portraying brutality on film. The cinematography this time around looks like it could have been done by Nicholas Winding Refn. Moments in this trailer felt like I was watching an art house film, and to have that juxtaposed with bad-ass violence is something, beautifully twisted.

It’s obvious that the scope of this film will be much larger than its predecessor. We move from subways, to garages, to kitchens, and it looks like it will be moving at a breakneck speed. The one thing I liked about the original Raid, is that it wasted no time, and just jumped right in to what you paid money for. Also, the story here seems like it will be the Indonesian take on The Departed, except for, well, more fists.

It looks like this film will have you leave the theater in a body cast, and that my friends, is definitely not a bad thing. My body is ready.

So OOUies, what do you think about this trailer? What’s your favorite martial arts film? Whatever your thoughts, comment below and let One of Us know!
