The Academy just made an announcement to make radical changes to the 2020 ceremony. Along with shortening the ceremony, the biggest, and most controversial, change is adding a new category recognizing ‘outstanding achievement in popular film.’ What does this category mean? What qualifies something as a ‘best popular film?’ The Academy gave no answers on this yet, but the Prizefighters have some thoughts over why this is a hasty and poorly thought out idea. Born in the wilds of northern Virginia, in 1992 Chris managed to put all of his survival skills to use and barely escaped with his life to Austin Texas, where ever since he’s dabbled in everything from plumber’s assistant to sandwich maker, from band to bar management.
