After much anticipation, we’ve been graced with the full trailer for Christopher Nolan’s (Interstellar, Inception) World War II epic, Dunkirk. As a departure from the recent slew of science fiction, the film follows the 1940 battle in Dunkirk, France between European Allies and Nazi Germany, leading into the evacuation of Allies from the beaches and harbor.
While still providing a quality selection of footage to showcase, the trailer keeps much in the dark story-wise while exhibiting a great deal of action footage, driving the point of the situation’s dread home.
Having a teaser of long-take, minimal images, the atmosphere remains the same as it appears to be a mark in the maturity of director Christopher Nolan.
With regulars, Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders, 28 Days Later) and Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises, Bronson), Nolan looks to stay true to his growing ensemble.
