The original Gears of War first debuted on the Xbox 360 in 2006, and the series has gone on to be one of Microsoft’s most popular and commercially successful franchises. Created by Epic Games, the series revolutionized third-person gameplay and has influenced many third-person shooters for the last decade.

Now under the management of video game developer The Coalition, the fifth entry in the series, Gears of War 4, has finally been released. Taking place 25 years after the events of Gears of War 3, the game follows Marcus Fenix’s son, JD, as he and his friends battle a new foe that threatens humanity.

Though fans of Gears of War, Christopher Herman and Jon Romo have a bit of chainsaw duel over their differing opinions on this latest installment.

Another plot hole that has been left open:

    Spoiler:

Near the end, while talking to the robot with the leader of the COG projected, a Pouncer shoots it’s barbs into the robot and all the sudden it becomes aggressive and (I think?) goes under Swarm control. The cast even comments on it. Kinda weird that they never bring that up again.
