Oh that Noah Baumbach. He sure does know how to make indie dramadies for adults.   ….   What, that’s all I got. It’s not like it’s not true. This is the guy who made Frances Ha, The Squid and the Whale and Margot at the Wedding. Old folks like, say Beau and Chris, totally love ’em. You yung’uns…well, I’m sure there’ll be another movie with superheroes in it for ya soon enough. So with that said…

While We’re Young follows the story of Josh (Ben Stiller) and Cornelia (Naomi Watts), a ‘settled in’ couple who have largely made peace with their inability to have children together and with the routine of their lives, which includes Stiller eternally working on his second film, a documentary too intellectually impenetrable for anyone to be interested. One day they meet Jamie (Adam Driver) and Darby (Amanda Seyfried) and the older couple find themselves captivated by the younger one’s joie de vivre and carefree attitude. Soon everything isn’t as simple as it seems, feelings get hurt and everyone learns something. Beau and Chris sure did. Listen to their review right here.

Born in the wilds of northern Virginia, in 1992 Chris managed to put all of his survival skills to use and barely escaped with his life to Austin Texas, where ever since he’s dabbled in everything from plumber’s assistant to sandwich maker, from band to bar management. An opportunity to see theatrical release films for free, by becoming a critic on a local public access show called “The Reel Deal”, turned into a full time job when Chris and his friends decided to take it to the internet. They built the site Spill.com, adding multiple podcasts and animated features, to no small amount of success. During this time, a fortuitous friendship sprung up between Chris and young Brian Salisbury, who was also a local film critic, and they merged their forces of will, and their laundry list of ideas for shows, to eventually build this paradise you see before you.
